Andrew's Story

Andrew was a fun loving, spunky child, who filled his six short years with a compassion for people and a zest for life. He possessed an uncanny wisdom, far beyond his years that affected everyone who knew him. Andrew was diagnosed at three months with an astrocytoma brain tumor, which later took his sight. He was able to take each day of his illness, surgeries, chemotherapy, and blindness in stride, filling his home with art, music, friends, and family. He and his big brother, Brian, spent many happy hours, forming lifelong memories in imaginative play, pretending to be pharmacists, "fix-it" guys, performers, doctors, professional wrestlers or any other venue they could think of. Andrew left this world, leaving behind the most precious of all gifts, a baby sister whom we named Abby, source of Father's Joy. Andrew went home to be with Jesus in August 1990.
