Message From Kathryn

Hello Friends and Supporters of the Andrew and Abby Szott Foundation!

It is with such a grateful heart that I write to you. So much has been happening within the Foundation, and I want to take a moment to give God the glory. He is the heart of who we are and the many people that He has working for the "gift of time" cause are His hands and His feet. I am so proud to be a part of something so worthwhile.

Plans for the Tournament for Time are moving along well. Every day more foursomes register; it looks as though we will have our 144 players earlier than last year. Fabulous silent auction items are coming in which we will be posting on the website before the tournament.

We are always so intrigued and delighted by the number of friends we are meeting along this journey. On Thursday, June 26 a group of eight foundations, all providing different resources to help families with children living with cancer, will be meeting for a roundtable discussion. Our focus will be on developing a brochure for families to receive upon initial diagnosis. The brochure will identify each foundation and provide details about the mission and services of each. This is something that has not been created before. It will be concise, organized and should prove to be a tremendous asset to families. In addition, our meeting will be a wonderful opportunity to network with other foundations that share passions similar to those of the Szott Foundation. Coming soon on our website will be a new link which will identify these family resources.

As many of you may have noticed, we now have a "wish list." You can find it by clicking on the "How can I help" button. As we learn, we realize that needs arise for which we have not thought to put in our 2008 budget. We have been prudent and prayerful in determining these needs. The most important and expensive one is a promotional video. We have found someone to do the production of the video for free and we have found a photographer and editor who is willing to donate his services at a considerable discount. We are delighted and very excited to get started on this project, as it will help spread the word of the Szott Foundation. In addition, it will help in our fundraising efforts. If this is the kind of donation that sparks an interest in you, please note on your contribution that you wish it to be used for this purpose or for any of the other purposes on our list.

We will be making a decision on our third "gift of time" family at our July 10th board meeting. The decision is difficult and as we approach this date, we are praying for wisdom and discernment, trusting in God for His guidance. Please join us in prayer. (James1: 2-8)
